  • My protein coffee shake

I enjoy 1 cup of coffee with breakfast, and it is delicious!

Here is what I do. In a small blender, I place 6 ice cubes, 1 scoop soy protein powder (non-flavored, 22gm protein), 2 tbsp. ground flax seed, and 1 packet Splenda. Lastly, I add 1 cup coffee. I pulse until all ice is not visible.

It turns out cold, frothy, delicious.

I use a blender made for making shakes. It's made by Hamilton Beach, and I paid $12 at Wal-Mart. It looks like a big drinking glass, and you can drink right out of it. It fits car drink holders. It has many good reviews at Amazon.com, and it looks like many bought it for protein shakes, from what I read there.

Oh yea, I wanted to say I use bulk soy protein powder from Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage. It costs about $6.50 a pound, and comes pre-packaged in half pound bags.

    DMJ,
What a great sounding coffee shake.
I would use whey protein powder with a T. of unsweetened cocoa and splenda, maybe some Hood Calorie Countdown milk and fiber to mine.

    Thanks for posting it.
